    "Emergence" is a study from my Underwater series exploring the quiet rupture between breath and surface — the moment a body, clouded in bubbles and light, negotiates return. Painted from observation and memory, the work uses layered brushwork and translucent turquoise washes to convey the buoyant pressure of water, the scattering of light, and the human impulse to rise.
